Nestlé, the global food and beverage company, sought an innovative way to launch and promote its new KitKat Ocean Salt flavour in Japan. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor Blippar to create an engaging WebAR experience that would both captivate consumers and educate them on an important environmental issue.

Blippar developed an immersive deep sea adventure activated by scanning the product pack. This WebAR experience transported users underwater, where they could interact with the brand by collecting virtual plastic waste, simultaneously learning about its harmful impact on marine life. This campaign by Blippar was highly successful, generating over 17,000 total visits and an impressive average user dwell time of more than two and a half minutes.
