NASA unifies 3,000 websites with Blink UX in 26 months

The customer, NASA, faced a significant challenge in managing its vast and inconsistent digital presence, which included over 3,000 separate websites. This lack of a unified system made it difficult for the public to find information and for NASA's own content creators to publish effectively. To address this, NASA partnered with vendor Blink UX to reimagine NASA.gov with a focus on user experience and a new content management system.

Blink UX conducted extensive research and design to create the Horizon Design System (HDS), a comprehensive solution that provided a new visual identity, topic-driven site structure, and streamlined publishing tools. The result was a unified, accessible, and engaging web experience that won a 2024 Webby Award. The new system empowered NASA's content creators and ensured important scientific discoveries could consistently reach and inspire the American public.
