The operator of a high-security transport facility required a reliable security system to monitor its rail tracks and tunnel entrance. Their challenge was that traditional camera-based systems could not distinguish people from trains, especially during movement, leading to numerous false alarms and a significant security risk. Blickfeld's solution involved installing its 3D LiDAR sensors to provide precise spatial data, enabling the system to accurately detect people even near moving trains and in complete darkness. The results for the customer were a significant enhancement in security with very few false alarms, allowing for reliable monitoring during live operations. The success has led the operator to plan an extension of the Blickfeld system to another tunnel section.
