Cali City Government improves landslide risk response with Blend360 and AWS

The Cali city government faced the challenge of needing to analyze large volumes of data to predict and prevent landslides, but lacked a centralized system for integrating geologic and meteorological information. They partnered with the vendor Blend360 to determine the viability of a cloud-based solution and to build a predictive risk management model.

Blend360 implemented a solution using artificial intelligence and machine learning on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including S3, Glue, and QuickSight. This created a data lake for automated data ingestion and analytics. The project significantly improved the city's ability to anticipate landslide risks and enabled real-time decision-making. A Total Cost of Ownership analysis confirmed the AWS solution was more cost-effective and scalable than an on-premise alternative.
