American Federal Mortgage, a New Jersey-based lender using Encompass, set out to redefine closings and create a fully digital, end-to-end mortgage experience for borrowers, settlement agents, and closing teams. After partnering with Blend in 2019 and seeking to replace a separate hybrid close provider, the lender’s challenge was to increase operational efficiency, reduce manual touchpoints, and make closings clearer and faster for customers.

Blend implemented Blend Close to integrate the closing process into American Federal Mortgage’s existing digital portal, automating document preparation, pre-delivering closing packages, and providing a Settlement Agent Workspace. The results: 100% of loans now go through Blend Close, borrowers can complete closings in as little as 10 minutes, some settlement agents have doubled their volume, and internal teams report fewer errors and significant time savings.
