How Cruise Uses BlazeMeter API Monitoring as its First Line of Defense for Kubernetes Cluster Health

Cruise, the platform engineering team running 60+ Kubernetes clusters, needed a reliable way to monitor cluster uptime and internal services for both development and production readiness. They also needed support for their internal network, since many API monitoring tools only cover external APIs, and they turned to BlazeMeter API Monitoring to fill that gap.

BlazeMeter implemented continuous API monitoring with on-premise agents, running ten tests per cluster every five minutes and integrating alerts with DataDog and PagerDuty. With BlazeMeter, Cruise processes about 2.2 million calls per day, monitors over 200 buckets with access for more than 450 users, and catches incidents early as its “first line of defense,” helping teams triage and fix outages before they affect customers.
