CallFire Turns to BlazeMeter To Ensure the 2016 US Elections Will Be a Performance Success

CallFire is a communications platform that provides voice and text products to over 100,000 businesses, including political campaigns, nonprofits and marketers. Facing the 2016 US elections, CallFire needed to reliably manage millions of calls and messages and scale for election-driven peaks, but its existing, labor-intensive testing approach couldn’t meet the demand or integrate easily with CI and monitoring tools.

CallFire adopted BlazeMeter’s continuous performance testing to simulate thousands of concurrent users and agents, using Selenium to drive web traffic and JMeter for API load while correlating results with New Relic and Zabbix. The testing uncovered bottlenecks early, enabled capacity-driven system changes, scaled the Cloud Call Center from ~300 to over 2,000 simultaneous agents, and allowed CallFire to handle about 30,000 concurrent calls while embedding performance testing into DevOps to ensure reliability.
