Toga Group, a major residential and hotel developer/operator across Australia, New Zealand and Europe, entered a period of rapid growth that exposed weaknesses in its finance back office. Reconciliations were handled with Excel-based templates by a three-person team that struggled to keep up with millions of transactions, causing slow turnaround, errors and falling internal satisfaction.
Toga deployed BlackLine’s cloud-based Reconciliation Management solution (implemented in about three months) to centralize and automate reconciliations. The platform auto-reconciled 58% of accounts and more than 95% of bank statement transactions while the reconciliation team stayed at three people, eliminated manual processes, introduced account rules and alerts, improved internal satisfaction (from mid‑5s to high‑7s/low‑8s) and gave auditors remote access; Toga plans further BlackLine rollouts.
