Case Study: Liberty achieves safer lone worker protection with Blackline Safety

Liberty Utilities needed a better way to protect frontline workers as security incidents and hostile customer interactions increased. The company wanted a reliable lone worker safety solution that could scale across its gas, water, and electric divisions, and it also needed a formal way to record incidents. Liberty selected Blackline Safety’s G7 wearables and Blackline Live software platform.

After a successful pilot, Liberty deployed its first 300 Blackline devices, including G7c and G7x models, with monitoring handled primarily by Blackline’s Safety Operations Center. The rollout added push-to-talk communication, fall detection, no-motion alerts, missed check-ins, and automated reporting, helping replace manual incident tracking. Liberty says the system has improved worker peace of mind and supported a stronger safety culture across its 3,900 employees.
