Dunkin’ Boosts Loyalty Enrollment With Third-Party Gift Card Promotion

Dunkin’ partnered with Blackhawk Network to support its digital gift card and ecommerce needs, then used that relationship to help solve a customer acquisition challenge. As competition grew, Dunkin’ wanted to keep its loyal base engaged while attracting new customers into its DD Perks® Rewards Program and Dunkin’ mobile app.

Blackhawk Network helped Dunkin’ launch a third-party eGift card promotion through CashStar technology, giving app users weekly chances to choose a Dunkin’ gift card and then enroll in DD Perks® or redeem in-store. The campaign drove strong response, with more than 50% of recipients redeeming or adding the card to the app and a 2x higher enrollment rate during each five-week promotion, while also lifting in-store sales and expanding Dunkin’’s reach into new markets.
