Madison Square Garden (MSG Digital) needed a faster way to create high-quality highlights from up to twelve live 1080i SDI feeds while also meeting new accessibility requirements for live closed captioning during gameplay. Their existing workflow delayed captions until video ingest was complete, so they turned to Blackbird and its cloud video editing platform to support fast-turnaround live sports production.

Blackbird integrated into MSG’s existing workflow to provide real-time ingest, proxy editing, and embedded closed caption support without adding extra hardware or changing infrastructure. Editors could create and publish branded highlight packages in seconds, with highlights reportedly ready about 12 seconds after big plays, helping MSG deliver captioned content quickly to web and social channels.
