U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria - Customer Case Study

U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, a sprawling community of nearly 35,500 service members, families and support personnel across 180 miles and multiple installations, struggled to communicate rapidly with the many schools, agencies and partner organizations that share the region. Emergency manager Kim Alahmadi relied on AtHoc for internal alerts but lacked a reliable, up-to-date way to reach external points of contact, creating time-consuming administrative work and potential gaps in crisis communications.

BlackBerry AtHoc deployed AtHoc Connect, hosting neighboring organizations in a secure VPS and enabling multi-channel alerts (phone, email, SMS, push) to designated external POCs while giving each organization self-service control of its personnel data. The result: faster, more reliable notifications, reduced administrative burden for garrison staff, and a coordinated “Smart Community” response that helps keep the people of USAG Bavaria safer.
