Pharmaceutical Company Gains Sales Edge with Help from a BlackBerry Solution

Claris Lifesciences, a large Indian sterile-injectables pharmaceutical company with a presence in 76 countries, faced a challenge equipping a mobile sales force that meets doctors daily and needs to track visits, leads, products discussed and urgent follow-ups. Sales reps and executives lacked reliable access to the company network and CRM tools while traveling or between appointments, limiting productivity and the ability to capture notes and customer information on the go.

The company integrated BlackBerry Enterprise Server with its MDaemon email platform and deployed 350 BlackBerry smartphones, plus a hosted Sales Planning & Achievements (SPA) app by iCubix that provides offline CRM access and automatic sync. The solution gave IT centralized control and security, enabled remote CRM access, improved workflows and approvals, and reduced communications costs (voice roaming charges fell as much as 24%), resulting in faster sales processes and a more competitive company image.
