Party Supplier Helps To Increase Sales Force Efficiency & Save Money By Deploying Integrated Blackberry Solution

Party Goods Warehouse, a Fort Lauderdale-based supplier of event and holiday products serving a large supermarket chain, faced inefficient field sales operations: bulky, unreliable handhelds that required manual order uploads, produced delayed and department-split invoices, lacked inventory control and drove high data costs. Sales reps needed a reliable, mobile solution that integrated with the company’s back-office systems and reduced labor and connectivity issues.

Working with AGS, Party Goods deployed a customized Wireless Merchant app integrated with Sage 300, BlackBerry smartphones, Bluetooth barcode scanners and BBM. Orders are scanned and queued offline on the device, sent to the warehouse for automated, department-specific invoicing and packing, and staff gain real-time account and inventory visibility. The rollout resolved over 90% of field issues, cut data usage, and delivered immediate savings of about $500,000 with an expected additional $150,000 in the following year.
