Mexican Law Enforcement Organization Uses BlackBerry Solution to Help Improve Crime Reporting and Public Safety

Procuraduría General de Justicia del Distrito Federal (PGJDF), Mexico City’s Attorney General’s office, oversees law enforcement across a vast, densely populated city. Citizens faced long waits and multiple agency visits to file complaints or find detained relatives, while staff relied on manual, paper-based processes that were time-consuming and error-prone.

PGJDF partnered with TR3SCO and BlackBerry to deploy a free BlackBerry app backed by BlackBerry Enterprise Server, offering MP Virtual (digital complaint filing with case numbers), MP Transparente (search for detainees and contact details), and an officials directory. The solution—downloaded nearly 10,000 times—sped up reporting, reduced paper use and unnecessary travel, streamlined internal workflows, improved public access and confidence, and is being expanded with anonymous complaints and a stolen-vehicle registry.
