A BlackBerry Case Study
This North American financial services firm with more than 6,000 employees and hundreds of billions in assets needed to let staff use personal devices while protecting highly sensitive client data. Employees demanded native Microsoft Office on mobile, but IT had to balance usability with strict regulatory and security requirements; after evaluating alternatives (including AirWatch and Microsoft Intune), the firm engaged BlackBerry to find a secure, manageable way to deliver native Office apps on BYOD devices.
BlackBerry deployed BlackBerry UEM with BlackBerry Work and Dynamics plus the BlackBerry Enterprise BRIDGE to integrate with Microsoft Intune, enabling native Office apps to access corporate files securely while retaining single‑pane management, DLP controls, SSO and two‑factor authentication—without requiring VPNs. The rollout preserved security and improved the end‑user experience, is expected to boost mobile productivity and app engagement, and supports the firm’s move to a cloud‑based, third‑party‑managed infrastructure and future internal app initiatives.
