Luxury Hotel Chain Empowers Staff To Work On The Move With Blackberry 10 Upgrade

Rocco Forte Hotels, a family-owned group of 11 luxury hotels across EMEA expanding into the Middle East and North Africa, needed a secure, cross-platform mobile solution to support growth and streamline frontline operations. With management already on BlackBerry Enterprise Service 5, the IT team sought a platform that would enable tablet and smartphone access to booking, POS and room-information apps for managers, F&B staff and chambermaids — and support BYOD on iOS and Android.

Working with BlackBerry and Novell, the chain tested and deployed BlackBerry 10 smartphones and BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, rolling out 200 phones and 60 tablets plus short training videos. The BES10 setup secured and integrated apps across iOS and Android, sped up restaurant bookings and room-service orders, improved staff efficiency and time management, and delivered better, more consistent customer service.
