A BlackBerry Case Study
Hannover 96, the German Bundesliga club, needed a secure, easy-to-manage mobile strategy to support about 88 employees who frequently work and travel remotely. The club regularly shares sensitive player, contract and financial information across multiple device types and had to meet internal data-protection rules and German security regulations. Hannover 96 wanted a Corporate-Owned Personally-Enabled (COPE) approach that gave staff device flexibility while preserving central control, security and a simple user experience across BlackBerry, iOS and Android.
Hannover 96 implemented BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 (BES10) with support from ISEC7, using Secure Work Space for iOS/Android and BlackBerry Balance on BB10 to separate and protect corporate data. Managed from a single console, the solution enabled over-the-air activation, app distribution and rapid remote wipe of lost devices, while allowing admins to manage only the secure container. The result was a highly secure, multi-platform mobile platform that improved user experience, supported the club’s COPE policy, reduced risk of data leaks and simplified device and app management without server upgrades.
