Large Private Capital Bank Speeds Up Lending Process with Help from BlackBerry Solution

Banco Industrial e Comercial S.A. (BICBANCO) is one of Brazil’s oldest and largest private capital banks, serving about 15,000 corporate clients with loans to medium and large companies. Its operations managers and regional directors spent much of their time visiting clients, and the bank’s two-step process—collecting loan information in the field and returning to the office to enter it—caused delays in approvals, higher risk of data errors and difficulty staying up-to-date with communications.

BICBANCO deployed the SGC Mobile app (developed by MC1) on BlackBerry smartphones to give staff direct, offline-capable access to the bank’s back-end credit system. Field teams can now enter and approve loan applications on the spot and sync automatically when connected, speeding up approvals, reducing processing errors, improving client communication and increasing customer satisfaction.
