A BlackBerry Case Study
Interchange Group is a UK IT services firm (founded 1976) that specialises in mobile and wireless solutions. Although an early adopter of BlackBerry in 2000, the company faced inefficiencies from multiple offices, processes that required physical presence, high mileage and poor on-the-road communications—prompting management to seek a mobile-first transformation.
Interchange closed its offices and gave staff the choice to relocate or work remotely with a PC, broadband and a BlackBerry; the company migrated to Exchange, deployed BlackBerry Enterprise Server and built mobile versions of its field service, sales, time-tracking and document systems. Today about 95% of staff work from home, productivity and responsiveness have improved (shorter meetings, faster authorisations), work/life balance is better and Interchange reports no customer complaints in the three years since going fully mobile.
