Takaful Emarat is a Dubai-based life and health insurer founded in 2008 that operates on Islamic Takaful principles. As the company shifted from selling through banks and brokers to a direct sales model, its field sales team needed to be highly available to educate customers, answer detailed product questions and manage follow-ups—something difficult to do while meeting clients in person.
Takaful Emarat issued BlackBerry smartphones to its salesforce, expanding from 30 to over 50 devices, enabling reliable mobile email and voice communication with an easy-to-use interface and a corporate data plan. The move cut response times from about 24 hours to a guaranteed 4–6 hours during the working day, sped up underwriting and information exchange in the field, improved customer satisfaction and loyalty, and gave the company a clear competitive advantage.
