A BlackBerry Case Study
Revera, a Mississauga-based senior care provider operating more than 200 retirement residences and over 30 home health offices across Canada, needed a better way to manage scheduling and information for its more than 5,000 front-line home care staff. Before the project, caregivers relied on phone check-ins, paper notes and disjointed communications, which made tracking appointments, client data and routes time-consuming and error-prone while managing more than four million service hours annually.
Revera deployed BlackBerry 10 smartphones managed by BES12 and preloaded with GoldCare’s MobilityPlus, giving caregivers secure, GPS-enabled access to appointments, maps, secure messaging and real-time check-in/check-out with timestamped location. The centralized solution improved documentation, cut travel time and missed visits (down 31%), streamlined shift fills and communication, enhanced lone-worker safety, and generated measurable time and cost savings while raising quality and consistency of care.
