BlackBerry Workspaces Keeps This Major Water Company’s File Shares Flowing Securely

Evides is one of the Netherlands’ largest water companies, serving about 2.5 million customers and supporting industrial clients across NW Europe. Because its operations must be highly reliable and GDPR‑compliant, Evides needed a secure way to share large files with external contractors that integrated with its on‑premises file server and OpenText DMS and provided location‑based access controls.

Evides deployed an EU‑based BlackBerry Workspaces instance tied to its file server (with OpenText integration planned), replacing ad hoc FTP servers and extending access from an initial 50 users to several hundred. The platform streamlined contractor collaboration, reduced overhead and points of failure, and ensured encrypted, EU‑hosted storage with geolocation and time‑restricted controls—improving user satisfaction and making regulatory compliance and auditing far simpler.
