Case Study: Gartner KG achieves secure, flexible driver communications and cost savings with BlackBerry

A BlackBerry Case Study

Preview of the Gartner KG Case Study

BlackBerry Drives Efficiency at This Austrian Transportation Firm

Gartner KG, headquartered in Lambach, is Austria’s largest family-owned transport company, operating 20 locations across nine countries with a large European fleet. Because drivers make time‑sensitive deliveries over long distances, reliable, secure mobile communication with dispatchers and clients is critical; Gartner faced a major breakdown when dispatchers routinely left company phones at home and needed a secure, EU‑compliant mobile device management solution that supported BlackBerry 10, iOS and Android without sacrificing privacy.

Gartner chose Good Technology (later acquired by BlackBerry) and deployed BlackBerry UEM, BlackBerry Work and the BlackBerry Dynamics container across 450 company devices (mostly Android, with some BlackBerry 10 and iOS), enforcing a no‑BYOD policy. The result was faster, more reliable driver–dispatcher communication, lower roaming costs via GPRS M2M integration, improved employee satisfaction and strong data security, plus responsive vendor support and plans to expand telematics and tablet-enabled fleet management.
