Havells India Ltd, a large electrical and power-equipment manufacturer with operations in over 50 countries, faced productivity challenges as its field sales force struggled to access up-to-date company and customer information while away from the office. Reliance on corporate laptops with inconsistent connectivity and time-consuming paper-based expense reports left salespeople ill-prepared for meetings and delayed reimbursements.
To address this, Havells deployed 1,200 BlackBerry smartphones running the mKonnect CRM app from Spice Labs, giving the sales team secure, near-real-time access to customer data, credit approvals and sales documents, plus an Employee Self Serve feature for submitting and tracking expenses. The rollout delivered quicker information access, a more informed and competitive salesforce, and a faster, trackable expense-claim process that eliminated reimbursement delays.
