Bank of New Zealand Deploys Good Technology™ to Enable Secure Access on Mobile Devices

Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), a major New Zealand bank with more than 5,000 employees and 180 retail stores, faced growing risk from a mixed fleet of 1,000 company‑owned and BYOD smartphones and tablets. As mobile apps and use increased, the bank needed auditable visibility and a way to prevent inadvertent corporate data leaks while maintaining mobile productivity for staff.

BNZ deployed Good for Enterprise and selected productivity and collaboration apps from the Good Dynamics Marketplace (including Good Share, GoodReader/iAnnotate for Good and Smart Office for Good), providing encrypted, containerized access to email, calendars, shared drives and document editing. The rollout mitigated data‑leak risk across the device fleet, let IT manage all platforms from a single console (and quickly secure compromised devices) and enabled employees to use one device securely for both personal and work use.
