Argentine Government Relies On Blackberry 10 To Help Coordinate Critical Services

Argentina’s Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, a large government agency with nearly 16,000 staff delivering services across a vast country, struggled to coordinate relief, social programs and remote education. Field teams in isolated communities relied on handwritten notes and bulky equipment, causing week-long delays, poor data accuracy and slow ministerial decision-making during disasters and outreach efforts.

The Ministry deployed 1,200 BlackBerry Z10 and 1,100 Q10 smartphones integrated with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry Balance and BBM, enabling secure mobile forms, geo-tagged photos and real-time sync to back-end systems. As a result, information now reaches officials in minutes instead of weeks, approvals and aid are delivered faster, heavy equipment has been replaced by lightweight phones, and overall communication, training and data accuracy have significantly improved while meeting government security standards.
