Eastman Chemical Implements AtHoc Networked Crisis Communication

Eastman Chemical, a global advanced materials company headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee, needed to modernize emergency communications for its 900‑acre Kingsport campus to protect a workforce community of about 9,500 on‑site employees and contractors. As part of a Strategic Safety Improvement Initiative, Eastman required a redundant, multi‑modal, bi‑directional alerting system that supported legacy devices, targeted messaging, rapid delivery, personnel accountability, and scalability for future growth.

After an 18‑month vendor search Eastman selected AtHoc and rolled out the branded “Eastman Alert” on‑premise solution in phases. The system unified pop‑ups, phones, SMS, email, intranet and later pagers, radios and signage into one interoperable platform with two‑way acknowledgements, high availability, and targeted delivery; the result is faster, more reliable alerts, improved situational awareness and personnel accountability, reduced operational downtime, and a scalable foundation for wider deployment.
