YMCA of Greater Charlotte, which serves more than 180,000 members and reaches thousands more through programs, faced its largest-ever fundraising campaign but was hampered by an obsolete donor and finance system. Staff struggled to extract supporter data or get a clear view of association finances, which impeded grant applications and campaign planning.
After evaluating vendors and consultants, the YMCA implemented The Raiser's Edge® and was operational in under 10 months. With improved donor management and reporting they secured an $800,000 Kresge Foundation challenge grant, surpassed their $50 million goal by nearly $7 million, and earned the 2007 Excellence in Fundraising Award.
