VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian) supports unpaid carers in Edinburgh and Midlothian through advice, training and services since 1994. Facing a bespoke CRM that no longer met emerging needs—limited team control, costly to change and difficult to scale—the organisation needed a more flexible, cloud-based solution, especially once remote working became necessary during COVID-19.

VOCAL implemented Blackbaud eTapestry® in early 2020, choosing a system that was intuitive, easily tailored and GDPR-compliant. eTapestry created a single source of truth for donor, professional and referral data, enabled a stakeholder database and a 900-recipient e-newsletter (only 11 bounces), directly increased referrals, streamlined reporting for trusts and events, integrated with JustGiving® and helped VOCAL exceed early fundraising targets while doubling the reach of carers’ stories.
