Virginia Theological Seminary, a private graduate institution with about 220 master’s and doctoral students, faced the challenge of shifting to a fully remote work environment during the COVID-19 pandemic without disrupting admissions and academic planning.
Using Blackbaud’s cloud-based education management solutions, the registrar and admissions teams moved all application processes online, gave committees and interviewers instant access to candidate files for virtual review and interviews, and adjusted deadlines for students affected by COVID-19. As a result, students submitted applications digitally, spring decisions were released on schedule by email, and the seminary maintained uninterrupted admissions operations while also leveraging Blackbaud for fundraising, donor management, and analytics.
