The University of Kent, a UK institution of over 4,000 staff and 20,000 students, needed a faster, simpler way to solve fundraising and relationship-management problems without spending time learning APIs or building complex deployments—challenges made more urgent by remote working during COVID-19. The Engagement team sought a solution that would boost productivity, simplify development, and let staff share donor information safely across departments.
They adopted the certified connector between Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Power Platform (including Power Automate), which enabled rapid solution-building with minimal coding and handled deployment. As a result, fundraisers worked more efficiently, donors were thanked more quickly, gifts could be marked acknowledged easily, and large-gift information was shared with other departments without granting direct access to Raiser’s Edge NXT.
