The University of York, a leading research university, needed to grow and modernize its alumni engagement after having little formal outreach for many years. Its Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni relied on legacy systems that limited who could access and contribute to donor data, constraining cross-department collaboration and mobile working.

As an early adopter of cloud-based Raiser’s Edge NXT, the university created a single, flexible source of data with role-based security and an intuitive interface. Users grew from about 20 to over 50, enabling wider departmental collaboration, secure information sharing, better mobile access for staff and senior leadership, and greater efficiency — with plans to expand adoption and pioneer further technology-driven improvements.
