The University of South Dakota Foundation launched Onward: The Campaign for South Dakota, a $250 million effort to fund scholarships and campus improvements, but needed 90% of donations to come from its top 10% of donors and didn’t have enough clearly identified major givers in its database.
By deploying Blackbaud’s Target Analytics (AI-driven predictive analytics), the foundation identified high-capacity prospects—including several hundred households and 160 top prospects—to focus cultivation. Of those 160, 80% moved to solicitation and 73% of solicited households gave, generating more than $67 million for the campaign and boosting major gift officers’ confidence and ongoing giving.
