A Blackbaud Case Study
The University of Maryland College Park Foundation, which manages and invests assets to support the university, faced rising fundraising complexity across 16 advancement units and lacked a sophisticated, accessible way to track performance and hold gift officers accountable. Leaders needed tools to predict attainment, measure officer efficiency, and standardize reporting to support continued growth.
In 2019 UMD implemented Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management to provide standardized reporting, portfolio optimization, coaching tools, and predictive modeling used across annual giving, prospect research, and alumni teams. The platform boosted transparency and goal-setting, and helped raise average annual fundraising from $178M to $234M (a 31% increase), positioning the team for greater success in its next capital campaign.
