A Blackbaud Case Study
The University of Georgia, a flagship institution with 17 colleges and more than 327,000 alumni, launched its Commit to Georgia campaign to raise $1.2 billion for scholarships, learning environments, research, and public service. The challenge was coordinating fundraising across campus, managing complex, multidimensional alumni and constituent relationships, and focusing development efforts to meet an ambitious target.
UGA implemented Blackbaud CRM, Internet Solutions, and data enrichment (including a L.A.I.T. prospect model) to centralize constituent data, prioritize prospects, and coordinate multichannel outreach and events. The result: UGA surpassed the $1.2 billion goal 16 months early, established 500+ scholarships (exceeding the 400 target), grew its five‑year rolling fundraising average more than 77% in four years (FY19 $204M vs FY15 $115M), consolidated 15 subsystems into a single platform, and expanded CRM usage to 700+ staff supporting thousands of marketing efforts and events.
