University College Cork (UCC), a globally ranked university established in 1845 with 24,000 students, needed to modernise how it used fundraising and stakeholder data to support five strategic priorities (student experience, research, arts & culture, sustainability and innovation). Working from a legacy Raiser’s Edge 7 system, teams were siloed, fundraising was reactive, and data was treated as static storage rather than a tool for insight—making it hard to engage stakeholders or target high-value opportunities.

UCC migrated to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT and partnered with Blackbaud Customer Success for workshops and change management, with senior data staff driving adoption across teams. The new platform delivered visual, actionable insights, revealed donor patterns (including strong trust/foundation performance and legacy-giving potential), enabled more proactive, diversified fundraising, and saved staff time on reporting—accelerating project delivery and improving strategic decision-making.
