The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, a leading Australian heart research charity founded in memory of Dr Victor Chang, needed a better way to grow online donations and public awareness—many online gifts went unnoticed and didn’t inspire further support. By adding Blackbaud’s Online Express with Givalanche—an easy “tick-a-box” social sharing feature—to their donation forms, the Institute instantly let donors broadcast gifts via Twitter, Facebook and email. The result was immediate and measurable: one $25 donation triggered eight additional gifts within five minutes, turning small contributions into a $150 uplift, and Givalanche is now active on all their online forms to drive ongoing donor acquisition and awareness.
