The Marine Mammal Center, a nonprofit veterinary hospital and education center in Sausalito, CA, rescues and rehabilitates marine mammals and runs outreach programs for tens of thousands annually. To grow its supporter base and online fundraising, the Center needed better email marketing (its Groundspring.org setup required the provider to build templates and made opt-outs time-consuming) and an eCommerce/fundraising solution it couldn’t achieve with the existing tools.
The Center implemented Luminate Online (using the Go! program to launch a welcome series and housefile-building campaigns) and added TeamRaiser for events and peer-to-peer fundraising. As a result, its email housefile grew 175% (from 20,000 to over 55,000), the annual Run for the Seals rose from $40,000 to over $140,000, and a last-minute fundraiser brought in more than $50,000, while conversions to sustained giving improved.
