A Blackbaud Case Study

Preview of the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation Case Study

The innovative ways Wellspring uses peer-to-peer fundraising to support those with cancer

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is a Canada-wide network that provides free, community‑based supportive cancer care. Lacking government core funding, Wellspring depends on donors, sponsors, volunteers and third‑party events to sustain programs and needed a reliable peer‑to‑peer fundraising solution to help supporters optimize their efforts and make events more efficient.

Wellspring adopted Blackbaud TeamRaiser (and uses Raiser’s Edge NXT for donor data), giving participants easy-to-build personal fundraising pages, an intuitive event site and strong backend support. After implementing TeamRaiser in 2018 the Ride for Cancer Support saw a 50% year‑over‑year increase in donors and, from 2018–2021, raised over $1 million, while improved data management strengthened fundraising and program decision‑making.
