SUN ’n FUN International Fly‑In Expo is a large annual aviation event that draws about 100,000 visitors and generates roughly 85% of the organization’s annual support. Running a six‑day show with exhibits, airshows and hundreds of volunteers, the organization struggled with three separate ticketing systems that made reporting opaque, slowed volunteer training and lengthened ticket lines.

In 2013 SUN ’n FUN consolidated ticketing on Blackbaud’s Altru, a user‑friendly all‑in‑one system that 250 volunteers could learn quickly. Fewer screens and clicks sped transactions (up to 23 per minute at peak), enabled processing of 14,000 visitors in a single day and about 50,000 tickets across the event, and centralized reporting — reducing lines, improving visitor experience and freeing staff to focus on the mission.
