A Blackbaud Case Study
St. Xavier High School, a Jesuit college-preparatory in Cincinnati, needed to modernize its traditional fundraising approach—annual fund, occasional auctions, and infrequent campaigns—amid growing competition for philanthropic dollars. Leadership recognized the need for ongoing major-gift cultivation, better donor insight on the road, and strategies to transition students into lifelong alumni donors.
By adopting Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT and NetCommunity and running a wealth analysis on 25,000 donors, the school launched a targeted major gifts program and a student-run Senior Class Gift initiative to build long-term giving habits. The technology-driven strategy accelerated results: St. Xavier raised $57 million in 3.5 years toward a 10-year, $100 million campaign, improved ROI on fundraising, and strengthened donor cultivation.
