Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind educational children’s media like Sesame Street, aimed to grow its online fundraising but was raising very little through its website. The organization needed a way to engage supporters via email and required the new online solution to integrate with Blackbaud’s Team Approach donor management system.

Sesame Workshop implemented Sphere eMarketing Advanced to build a “Support Us” giving sub-site, use dynamic segmentation for highly targeted email appeals, and create on-demand integration between Sphere and Team Approach. Within a year online donors doubled, a “Tickle Me Elmo Giveaway” added 8,000 email addresses in a month, and integrated direct mail and online campaigns produced a 44% higher online average gift.
