A Blackbaud Case Study
Sonoma Land Trust, a nonprofit that has protected more than 48,000 acres in and around Sonoma County since 1976, needed a smarter way to manage an expanding donor database and cumbersome credit-card processing. Near its 40th anniversary the organization was still spending excessive time on manual entry and spreadsheet integrations despite using Network for Good and eTapestry.
After exploring eTapestry’s fuller capabilities at bbcon 2015 and switching to Blackbaud Merchant Services integrated with eTapestry, Sonoma Land Trust automated data capture and streamlined payment processing. The trust processed 1,200 year‑end donations and thanked donors within 48 hours (instead of up to a month), reclaimed significant staff time for donor engagement and fundraising, and reduced operational burden so teams can take weekends off.
