A Blackbaud Case Study
Soi Dog Foundation, founded in 2003 to help homeless and abused dogs and cats in Thailand, had grown rapidly—surpassing 100,000 sterilizations—and with that growth faced increasing administrative strain. Donor records were scattered in Excel, it was hard to tell first-time from recurring donors, acknowledgements were rare, and manual processes were becoming a burden on the fundraising team.
In 2013 Soi Dog implemented eTapestry, a centralized fundraising database that automated many workflows, flagged new entrants, and created personal supporter profiles showing donation history, shelter visits and sponsorships. The system freed staff to focus on strategy and relationship-building, improved email segmentation and campaign targeting, and helped grow supporters and donations four-fold.
