Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Dubuque-based order serving education, pastoral care, and social services, faced a one-size-fits-all annual appeal that left fundraising potential untapped. New development director Andy Schroeder pushed for a data-driven approach and transitioned the organization to Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT with Intelligence for Good to better target and steward donors.

They cleaned and enriched 90,000 records (recovering about 2,600 “lost” contacts) and used SKY AI™/Wealth Analytics to set individualized ask amounts and prioritize prospects. The result: more than a 68% increase in annual appeal revenue with the same donor base, average gifts rose over 60%, roughly $200K was added to their operating fund (enabling a ~20% program increase), and the organization was able to offer nine additional scholarships.
