SickKids Foundation Uses Blackbaud Solutions to Run Largest Hospital Fundraising Campaign in Canada’s History

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto — supported by SickKids Foundation, which manages $467.5M in funds — launched the largest fundraising campaign in its history with a $500M goal. The Foundation needed to grow monthly giving, simplify gift processing, deliver rapid reporting for stakeholders, improve donor stewardship over a six-year campaign, and build an online community to support communications.

SickKids implemented Blackbaud’s integrated suite (The Raiser's Edge, The Financial Edge, NetCommunity, The Information Edge, ProspectPoint, plus consulting and data enrichment). Within a year revenues rose 40%, exceeding the first-year target by nearly $8M; monthly donors grew from 21,000 to 48,000 (now 60,000), generating $800,000 annually, and gifts are processed just one day per month.
