Sharp HealthCare Foundation, the fundraising arm of San Diego–based Sharp HealthCare, raises support for hospitals, research, and education and brought in $27M in 2020 with a team of more than 15 frontline fundraisers. The foundation was using an on‑premises CRM (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) that left fundraisers without donor access while in the field, causing delayed data entry, potential inaccuracies, and limited visibility during donor meetings.

In December 2019 Sharp migrated to the cloud-native Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, adding mobile/tablet access, modern reporting, and streamlined workflows. Combined with upfront data standardization and training, the change boosted productivity, avoided an estimated 400 lost work hours during the pandemic, improved donor visibility, and helped fundraisers close 59% of solicitations in 2020.
