The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, which has supported New Brunswick’s largest hospital for more than 30 years and raised over $85 million to date, faced growing complexity in managing finances across three main funds and multiple endowments. Staff needed to present financials at different levels of detail for employees, management, a finance committee, and the board, and manual processes became time-consuming, labor intensive, and error prone.
The Foundation implemented Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT to integrate fundraising and accounting, automate interfund transactions and journal entries, and provide flexible budgeting and variance reporting. As a result, reporting is faster and more accurate, staff save significant time, and the organization has reduced human error while maintaining clear, stakeholder-specific financial reporting.
