The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) distributes millions annually to support sailors, marines and their families but was managing grantmaking with disparate spreadsheets and a fundraising database that didn’t meet its needs. As the charity grew and took on many restricted and varied funds, RNRMC needed a sharper, configurable system that would reduce errors, streamline processes and allow in-house control of application forms.

RNRMC implemented Blackbaud Grantmaking, configuring multiple forms, dashboards and a budget module and integrating data with Microsoft Power BI. The new system eliminated duplicate data entry, sped up communications and monitoring, improved the applicant experience, and enabled the charity to handle more—and smaller—funds while producing clearer outcome reporting and greater operational efficiency.
